Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Vendor List website and services (the "Service"), operated by The Vendor List LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company, 1751 Highway 9 West, Longs, SC 29568 ("we," "us," "our"). By submitting a service request, applying as or logging in as a contractor, creating an organization account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What the Service is
The Vendor List is a matching service that connects people who need trade work done ("Requesters" — homeowners, property managers, and organizations) with independent, third-party trade contractors ("Contractors") in the Grand Strand, South Carolina area. Contractors pay a fee to claim access to a Requester's contact information and job details.
We are not a party to any agreement between a Requester and a Contractor. We don't perform trade work, employ Contractors, supervise their work, set their prices, or guarantee their availability, licensing, insurance, quality, or the outcome of any job. Any contract for services — including price, scope, scheduling, and payment for the work itself — is solely between the Requester and the Contractor. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any Contractor or Requester.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account, including actions taken by anyone you've invited to an organization account.
3. Contractor responsibilities
By applying to be listed or claiming a lead, a Contractor represents that they hold any required license, permit, and insurance for the trade work they perform, that they will perform work lawfully and to a professional standard, and that they are solely responsible for their own work, employees, subcontractors, tools, and equipment. We may verify license/insurance information but do not guarantee it remains accurate or current, and listing on the Service is not an endorsement of any Contractor's work. Billing and collecting payment for completed work is solely the Contractor's responsibility — the Contractor bears the risk of a Requester who fails to pay, and must pursue any such claim directly against the Requester, not against us.
4. Requester responsibilities
Requesters are responsible for the accuracy of the property, access, and contact information they provide (including entry codes and instructions), and for arranging payment for the actual work directly with the Contractor. We do not hold, process, or guarantee any payment for trade work performed. If a Requester fails to pay a Contractor for completed work, that is a dispute solely between the Requester and the Contractor. We have no role in billing, collecting, guaranteeing, or mediating payment for work performed off the Service, and are not liable for any unpaid invoice or job.
Contractors self-report their license number and insurance information when they join the Service. We do not independently verify that this information is accurate, current, or that any license or insurance policy remains valid, and we do not guarantee it. Once you're matched with a Contractor, their self-reported license number and insurance reference are available for you to review from your request page. You are responsible for independently confirming this information before relying on it — for example, by checking a South Carolina contractor's license status at the SC Labor, Licensing and Regulation public lookup (verify.llronline.com), or by contacting the Contractor's insurance agent directly to confirm coverage is current.
5. Fees
Contractors pay a fee to claim a lead, as disclosed at the time of claiming. Fees may be waived or set to $0 during promotional or pilot periods at our discretion. Fees are for access to the lead, not a guarantee of winning the job.
6. Content you submit
You may submit descriptions, property access notes, photos, reviews, and other content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share it with matched Contractors or Requesters as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your job photos to a Contractor deciding whether to claim the lead, or showing a Contractor's photos to the Requester who submitted the job).
You're solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to submit anything that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, is harassing or abusive, or is knowingly false. We're not obligated to monitor User Content, but we may remove it, and may suspend or terminate access for anyone who submits prohibited content, at our discretion.

If content you posted is removed on this basis, you may submit a counter-notice with: (1) your signature, (2) identification of the removed material and its prior location, (3) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed in error, (4) your name, address, and phone number, and (5) your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which we're located). We may restore the content unless the original complainant files a court action within the time required by law. Accounts of repeat infringers will be terminated.
7. Prohibited uses
You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; impersonate any person or entity; attempt to bypass or circumvent our fee structure or matching process outside the Service; scrape, harvest, or resell data from the Service; interfere with the Service's operation or security; or use it to harass, defraud, or endanger anyone.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY CONTRACTOR WILL BE AVAILABLE, LICENSED, INSURED, OR PERFORM WORK SATISFACTORILY.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR MEMBERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY WORK PERFORMED BY A CONTRACTOR — EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $100. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Vendor List LLC and its members from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: your use of the Service; your User Content; your violation of these Terms; or, for Contractors, the work you perform or fail to perform for a Requester.
11. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 12 (Dispute Resolution), any legal action not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Horry County, South Carolina, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
12. Dispute resolution — binding arbitration
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. Except for claims that qualify for small claims court, or claims for injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or prevent unauthorized use of the Service, you and we agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court.
Class action waiver: You and we agree that any arbitration or claim will be conducted only on an individual basis, not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.
Opt out: You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@thevendorlistsc.com with your name and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration, within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms. Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including a violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
